StudioCoast offers the following dedicated SSL Certificate options to secure your website. An SSL Certificate helps to encrypt sensitive data that is entered by a user of your website. Such as customer credit card details or login forms. It also helps your website's SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). Google now ranks websites with an SSL certificate higher than those without one.

All certificates support 256bit encryption. They work with over 99.9% of browsers. 256bit encryption is the standard supported by web browsers.

SSL Certificates require a dedicated IP address which will be allocated to your site for no extra cost automatically upon application.

There are three options available for a dedicated SSL Certificate:

Option 1 Dedicated SSL (for a single URL)

A dedicated SSL certificate is needed if you wish to secure a single domain name's URL. For example: https://www.yoursitename.com.au

If you choose to secure your domain with www in front, it will automatically secure both the www and non-www addresses.

The cost is $99 per year including all registration charges through Comodo and one dedicated IP address.

This SSL option can be ordered via the View/Create SSL section of hostControl - https://secure.hostcontrol.com.au/sslmanager.aspx

Option 2 Wildcard SSL Certificate

A wildcard SSL Certificate will allow you to secure any subdomain URL for your domain with the one SSL Certificate. For example, ordering a Wildcard SSL for *.yoursitename.com.au will mean you can secure any subdomains for the yoursitename.com.au domain name such as shop.yoursitename.com.au, example.yoursitename.com.au etc. It will also allow you to secure the root domain as well.

The cost is $199 per year including all registration charges through Comodo and one dedicated IP Address. For each additional subdomain you wish to secure with this SSL certificate, a dedicated IP address upgrade will need to be purchased. The cost is $38 per year for a dedicated IP address upgrade.

A wildcard SSL Certificate can be ordered by submitting a support request through hostControl - https://secure.hostcontrol.com.au/

Option 3 EV (Extended Validation) SSL Certificate

An  EV (Extended Validation) SSL Certificate adds a green address bar which prominently displays your company name when visiting the website. An example of this can be seen when visiting the StudioCoast website. If you look above in your address bar, you will see our Company name listed in green next to the green padlock symbol.

This provides highly visual assurance to customers that your site is secure – immediately giving them the confidence to complete their transaction.

Obtaining an Extended Validation SSL Certificate requires full organization validation which ensures the green address bar is associated with only the most trusted companies.

The cost is $300 per year including all registration charges through Comodo and one dedicated IP address.

An EV (Extended Validation) SSL Certificate can be ordered by submitting a support request through hostControl - https://secure.hostcontrol.com.au/
