Before you begin

You will need to have your Email Account, Password, Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server information. To find this, log into your account via hostControl:
https://secure.hostcontrol.com.au (If you are unsure of your login details, select the 'Forgotten Password' button).

Once in hostControl, browse to the "Email Accounts" section, find the email account you wish to setup and select the 'Connect Info' link to the right. This will show your email's username, password, incoming mail server, outgoing mail server and port number. Keep this information handy and proceed to Step 1.

 Step 1

Open Outlook 2016 and Click the File Menu. Next, select the Add Account button.

 Step 2

A window with the text Welcome to Outlook will appear. Enter your email address into the email field. Then select "Advanced Options" and tick the checkbox "Let me set up my account manually" and click the Connect button.

 Step 3

Next choose your account type. You can select either the "POP" or "IMAP" option.  If you are unsure which to choose, see the following Knowledge Base article link on Should I choose POP3 or IMAP?. If you want to check this email account across multiple devices or computers (such as on your phone, home computer, office etc), then we recommend choosing IMAP.

   Step 4

Next fill in all your email account settings as per below, then click Next.

Incoming Mail Server: Your email account's incoming mail server. To find this, please refer to your Account Information by logging into hostControl.
Incoming Port: 993 (if using IMAP) or 995 (if using POP3)
Encryption method: SSL/TLS
Outgoing Mail Server: Your outgoing mail server will be the same as your incoming mail server.
Outgoing Port: 26
Encryption method: STARTTLS

   Step 5

The next step will ask you to enter in the password for your email address.  Type this into the field and then click Connect.

   Step 6

If successful you should then see the below notice letting you know the account setup is complete. Click OK to finish. You are now ready to use your email account in Outlook.
